The Original WhistleStop Cafe Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp Recipe

We decided to make a quick dessert this week with our Apple Crisp Mix ~ If you haven’t tried it you need to. This mix is so very easy to use, but more importantly, it has one of the best flavors of any dessert product on the market today. We used a specially blended sugar with our recipe and found it to be excellent with almost any fruit. Great with your favorite apples, and also great with pears, peaches, berries and even pineapple. You’ll love it.

Here’s our official recipe:

22 to 25 oz. of sliced fruit
1 Package WhistleStop Apple Crisp Mix
5 Tablespoons melted butter

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Slice fruit and spread evenly into a 8 x 8, 9 x 9, or 10 inch round baking dish or cake pan (see Note). Combine crisp mix with butter until crumbly, then spread or sprinkle over fruit evenly. Bake 25 to 35 minutes. Yum!!!

Uses: May be used with apples, peaches, pears, berries, apricots, pineapple, etc.

Variations: May be used with fresh or canned fruit. (With canned fruit you may use slightly less butter.) Top with ice cream or whipped cream.

Note: You may use Graham cracker pie shell if you like.

Note: Using less butter will yield crispier crust, and more butter will yield a more moist crust.
