I love the chili this starter makes. I do put less diced tomato and beans than the directions call for. Less diced tomato because otherwise the tomato taste is too overpowering and less beans because that is my preference. Also in regard to the diced tomatoes, I use at least one can of oregano, basil, and garlic seasoned diced tomatoes and the rest are plain petite diced. This makes it a "hearty" tasting chili. I put no "hot" spices in my chili as I don't handle the heat too well.
Been using this mix for several years now and have referred many to this site.
